Stop blowing the whites in the skin by cranking the contrast without restraint. And go easy on the eyes. They look nuclear. Framing is confusing in the first one. Pose and connection are good in the second, just needs better post.

Why not throw the chalk between you and the camera, and use the 2D nature of photography to make it seem like it was going towards your face? Or not use it at all? It's not really adding anything to the photo at all... Seems really out of place, actually.

Easy mode could be to use one of the cheap cabled remote triggers with timer & beeps from China to just fire repeated bursts of x seconds every y seconds.

I like this; it's a little soft - maybe work with some reflectors or lights
