Additionally, the mexican style of taco is crude and peonic, so very obviously the staple of a lesser people dominated by the peasant class.
The Americanized taco has more ingredients and thus more complexity. I do enjoy the elegant simplicity of the mexican style taco, but here we call it "Poor Man's Dinner". We know what we are getting, Paco.
