We actually still don't have same sex marriage (just "civil unions") and we have probably the most conservative government in Europe.

Of course we're still going to pass the gay marriage law because we need to demonstrate to the EU that we believe in "European values" even if our politicians will still explain to us that they "personally morally disagree" with the laws that they're pushing through.
