Here's our route of travel
Berlin-Wittenberg- Leipzig - Weimar- Bayreuth- Nuremberg- Munich
Wittenberg is good for a lunch visit or a full day depending on your interest in Luther an the reformation. At minimum see the door on which he nailed the 95 theses and go grab something to eat at a nearby restaurant. At maximum, tour through the historic city and see some museums.
In Leipzig there are a few things you must see.
Volkerschlachtsdenkmal - Memorial to battle of Leipzig in 1813
Auerbachskeller- more or less a pub. Goethe used to drink there and hi Faust has a scene that takes place there. Everyone has to pop in for an obligatory beer.
Thomaskirche and Bach museum.

Goethe Museum
Schiller Museum
Buchenwald
Continue to Bayreuth
Skip this city if you don't like Wagner. Unless you want to just see the Liszt museum.
Nuremberg
Plenty to do and see here.
Munich
Drink a shitload of beer! See a shitload of museums. Get kicked out of beerhalls for insobriety.
Stuttgart
Avoid. Even the Mercedes Benz museum sucks.
