>>54692527Good answer and I'm not entirely unsympathetic to your comments.
However, here are the things you need to sympathize with. Trump is very rational man and financial wizard. You can pick and choose to abet your personal agenda but even adversaries won't deny this. Just like he operated ruthlessly in the interests of his business he will operate ruthlessly for the interests of this nation. In this he is what our founders intended. Who else is that even possible for? This nation IS a business. Always has been. All nations are. And we sure as fuck don't run this monstrosity with a business mindset now. The fact is, we need a badass hardlining motherfucker who will not take shit from any of these cynical pricks NOW. I am not happy about our sorry state but Trump is just a consequence of incompetence, corruption, and irresponsibility.
This is an argument made especially for you. He has the balls to risk everything he's built in business (he cares a lot about money right? more than country, right?) for this "highly" controversial and rebellious political campaign. GOING AGAINST EVERYTHING IN THE ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA/ACADEMY/POLITICAL CLASS. And speaking a lifetime of truth in the process. Again, do you deny that? We have a mess to clean up where instead of being beholden political appointees and donor control Trump can form a team of the right people and do all kinds of things to fix our broken nation.
Alll that said, broad-swiping Trump supporters as reactionary assclowns is a either very cynical or naive. There are many people of knowledge and depth across partisan lines who are supporting or considering support. You would be shocked at the sort of people I've spoken to in the USA contemplating Trump.
Assuming he makes it into office, he is going in there with huge expectations and responsibility from a uniquely democratic nomination. My strong belief is that he will respect his mandate and do one hell of a job. Bravado aside, he is an honorable man.
