But when I drink, I drink a lot. Plus I barely drink enough water the next day.

Dehydration can cause hair loss. So I'm only drinking on weekend, and drinking plenty of water. See if the hair improves.

Fin blocks DHT from being formed which is the reason for baldness, as long as you start it early on you're good

The first year yes. Horrible mood swings. Probably related to hormonal imbalance divide you're increasing the amount of testerone in your body (not converting to dht). Passed after 8-9 months.

I remember trying to get on that shit by perscription and the doc showed me a web link that had literally 1000s of dudes complaining of never recovering after stopping that shit.

You can have no side effects for months/years and all of a sudden catastrophic changes set in.

Doc put me off the idea of fin and propecia for life.

There is no hair falling out when you have male pattern baldness. Your own imune system attacks the hair follicles literally, making them sensitive to DHT. There are unknown reasons behind this or why its so different for everyone.

Current research focuses on why the hair falls ouut and how to stop it, or block DHT from working, which is equally shitty way, but I guess for now thats enough.

For the real reasons we need to wait for another couple of decades but by that time we'll already be printing human tissues and balding will be a non-issue.

We know so much more about the nature of hair loss than even five years ago. Furthermore, there are other hair multiplication technologies that have become more sophisticated. I hope in 10 years time we'll have a far more robust arsenal.

The other point I would add is diet does 100% play a role. Maybe not major if your genes are fucked, but definitely does something. Just look at how Japan saw a rise in male pattern baldness after their diet went slightly more westernised.

Stress plays a huge role. I had a stressful period during 1-2 years and my hair was noticably falling much much faster, and I got a bald spot on top. Since I became self employed, lost some weight and started running 3-4 times a week it not only stopped but some hair already grew back.

Stress plus diet plays a huge role with everything, including cancer for example.
