We can vote in primaries, but not general elections so long as we're on the island.

If we move to any of the 50 states, we can vote in any election. And the amount of people leaving the island for the mainland is is higher than its ever been.

I don't think the US stands to gain much from PR becoming a state. You guys can pretty much do as you please here already.

PR stands to gain and lose, though. We'd have to pay more taxes, but being a state would give us a slightly bigger say in US politics and we'd be rid of some retarded commerce laws that do nothing but hurt our economy.

Wouldn't know about educated, though. I can't count the number of reports I've seen on the local news of people that left for the US without a plan and find themselves working shit jobs and/or living in cars and shit.
