>>54692592You are perfectly within your rights to dislike or distrust anyone. So if you distrust men because of your personal experience, it's not like anyone can say anything to that. As long as you don't go around filing false reports because of your mistrust, then it's really nobody's business but your own.
As to whether or not that mistrust is -rational-, well, then we have to look at statistics. And the big difference between men and black people is that men make up about 49% of the population, whereas black people in America only make up about 13% of the population. The reason that supposedly "racist" presumptions about black Americans persist is because of the hugely disproportionate amount of black crime compared to the black population. What makes that disproportion so obvious is that there are a lot of other races to compare to: Hispanics, Asians, Pacific Islanders, etc. With men, the only point of comparison is women, and although I'm sure you'd find similarly disproportionate amounts of violent crime comparing men to women, and if that is indeed the case, then it is rational to use more caution around men than you do around women. I would point out, however, that a general mistrust of black people is more practical, since there are a lot more men than there are black people.
