I have a question for atheist. How can you believe with 100% certainty that there is no God when there is no proof that he does not exist? That doesn't seem like a very logical, open minded and scientific way to view the world. It seems more like your beliefs are being dictated by your emotions and not on facts.

It's because if you use that justification, you have to open the possibility that God is a deceiver; kind of like the "evil demon" in Descartes that bombards our minds with illusions.

And that possibility is not good for the conventional theologies.

Well I should have been more specific, the Christian god who going by a literal interpretation of the Bible created the earth and heavens 6000 years ago or whatever.

Now if we're talking about a much looser interpretation of the Bible or a totally non-Christian god that created the universe 13+ billion years ago and all the physical laws to guide the formation of it and life, that's a different story. Still not a belief that I personally ascribe to, but I won't knock it either. We just don't enough enough at this point to prove or disprove it. It doesn't contradict all we know about the universe like biblical creation stories do.
