1. Go to a homeless shelter when the time comes (if it ever does in the first place).
2. In extreme cases, sell your cat, that should get you some cash.
3. Commit a crime. Not murder or theft, but some sort of crime that won't ruin anyone's life, but will end you up in jail. Jail has food, people, and is free. Tell the court that your only request is that your cat will be put in good hands.
4. Somehow get enough money to get by.
