I don't know that it's a far-reaching conspiracy, or an innate trait of some group, or that it's a practice exclusive to them.

The numbers might be a tad off given pre-war population figures, and it is enraging just from a scientific perspective to have the notion that there could be any supposed fact that should be exempt from re-examination.
One can argue the motives behind it, arguing whether extermination was actually the goal or if it was simply an attempt at containment that went awry, an argument made even more fun by different Nazis not seeming to have been on the same page.
But something clearly fucking happened.
