The Vatican? Why would they ever do that? Roman Catholics are the most autistically rational of all the Apostolic denominations, they're the only one that has a doctrine that says God can be proven through reason, even though the Orthodox Church says God can only be known through experience.

It is in theological terminology it is, since it uses the term back before it existed in English.

But if you mean the strictly empirical science (which I might point out, would exclude mathematics, where are mostly reason), then I suppose that would be more of an Orthodox affair.
