so, the fact that in America Black men in fact ARE more likely to commit violent crime has NOTHING to do with it?
what if you were giving people images of 2 people standing next to each other, and then asking people to guess whether they are a couple or not? i'd say people would be much more likely to say a man and a woman standing together are a couple, than a different combination. would you attribute this to social bias? or would you then agree that "well the fact is most couples are intersex combinations, so it's only natural for people to have that image in their mind"?
African americans commit a very disproportionate number of violent crime. this is a fact. and if people are aware of facts, it's those facts that influence their decisions the most.
