>>54714478>moon base by 2020, Mars base by 2025 and be well into a million people living off planet by 2050Mars is a dead world. A million people living there would require a constant influx of resources to keep them alive: tools, machine parts, technology, clothing, plus even the most basic elements we take for granted, such as food, water, and oxygen.
Mars doesn't have an magnetosphere, and as a result its atmosphere is 100 times thinner than Earth's. Solar wind constantly strips particles away from Mars; nothing blocks UV light and water is broken down as a result.
You can't just bring a bunch of seeds, grow plants, and magically terraform a planet without a stable atmosphere.
Terraforming is WAY beyond our level of technology. We can't even control our own global warming; how the FUCK are we going to build a planetary magnetosphere and stable atmosphere? It can't happen. Not in 2050. Not in 2150.
