There were other ways to take it down. But it's already in most state laws I believe that you own a certain amount of airspace above your property and beyond that is federal airspace.

So technically the drone operator was trespassing. The idiot still fired a handgun in a residential area and that is what he should be charged for. The drone operator has no grounds to pursue compensation.

This.

Theyll fuck with the drone operator if they find him but theyll still be looking at how bad an idea it was to have a civ shooting at it.

Tshirt cannon or rock or something better idea.

Bullets fall back down people fuck up and miss they just dont want randoms shooting at these things.

Those laws have gotten more strict since somebody shot up into the air and the bullet came down into a little girls head at church.

The dude should have got a wrist sling shot, and a golf ball, but given he acted fast I understand why, he shouldn't be charged at all.
