Considering the US made about 15 trillion dollars in GDP, and the government consumes about 40 percent of that in taxes (6 trillion), you would be looking at around 5.1 trillion dollars going into space exploration.

We just need to use the resources going to Africa more intelligently. We need to fund education and the construction and maintenance of infrastructure, focused primarily in the most stable and least corrrupt nations.
