What does /pol/ think about youtube's video supporting gay marriage?

I found it pretty touching, tbh.

But I still can't help but feel like gay culture going mainstream will be a kind of bittersweet victory. Kind of like when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier, causing the Negro leagues, and all they had created and brought to the game, to collapse.

I'm not gay, but I was born and have lived my whole life in a city that was always cool with gay people. The gay parts of the city had already developed a mystique and inventiveness against the normal aspects of the city. It was fun to visit. As being gay becomes less of a statement and more of an accepted lifestyle, it's also going to lose some of its edge. Some of the stuff that made it a unique neighborhood full of unique expressions will disappear.

You fags hate everything, especially gays, so I don't expect you to understand. I'm going to miss all those bears and queens, their odd-duck bars and restaurants, the sex ad's of shirtless men taped to lightpoles, and all the places that had free condoms available if you walked through the front door. Soon that will all be kitsch.

And though I anticipate it, I can't say I'm looking forward to what will replace all of that. The new, Starbucks deluxe Gay Man 2.0.

I never thought I'd live to see "Gay" as boredom.
