Hey Pole -

Oliver Wendell Holmes said in the eugenics case Buck v. Bell "Three generations of imbeciles are enough."

In that case, Holmes found that compulsory sterilization didn't violate the due process clause of the 14th. He thought it should be fine to sterilize a mentally handicapped woman named Carrie Buck who was the daughter of another mentally handicapped woman and the mother of a mentally handicapped child. Holmes thought that having retards breeding in such a fashion was a danger to society and the health of the state.

Was he right? Do you support the state sterilizing undesirables?
