The key cause of poverty is over-population destroying all ecomic value of labor while simultaneously driving up the cost of survival due to high demand for resources.
The liberal idea that "economic growth will occur with population growth so everyone's richer" will only transform nations into being more like Mexico where they have a hyper-rich class that lvies like gods, a massive poverty class, and not a whole hell of a lot in between.
It's naive, and economically impossible for the liberal belief that we'll all be better off economically, and it's showing right now in the fucking real world as in the US wages are going flat, college degrees are largely worthless save for a few, millions are being displaced and marginalized right out of the economy due to being crowded out by too much competition from foreigners and a government that promotes hiring those foreigners over citizens, and a shrinking middle class.
The 3rd world would lift itself out of poverty very quickly if it would simply get its birthrate problem under control. Plus for bonus points it would do the entire fucking planet a favor by stopping the choke the population growth is causing
