>Racial diversity in films has flatlined - Hollywood needs to rewrite the script
>new study has revealed that out of over 30,000 characters since 2007, only 30.2% were female, while just 5.8% of directors were black
>Goyer Says "Too Many White Male Directors" in Film, Calls for More Diversity
>73.1 percent of all the speaking or named characters in the top 100 movies were white
Yet when Hollywood decides to make a film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, they decide to cast a white woman as Motoko Kusanagi.
Why is it with all these calls for diversity it's always "blacks are under-represented" and "we need more white women" and "there aren't enough Latinos" but no one is pushing for more Asian women in films? Aren't they a minority too?
