>>54742993To be perfectly honest, a parental aptitude test shouldn't be a standardized test that any idiot can just study for, it should be for people who are truly financially and emotionally prudent and know all of the sacrifices involved in raising a child. The answer to all such questions needs to be backed up by hard evidence such as income statements, liquid asset reserves, projected job security, etc... 18 years is a long time so there is no perfect solution, but we can at least cull out the obvious shitty parents.
Example question:
1) What is your projected cost of raising your child for his/her first 18 years of life and how do you intend to fund such expenses? Please attach a detailed spreadsheet with all projected costs and include proof (such as income statements of both parents, degrees that have high market value, etc...) that you are suitable financially to take care of this child.
Example answer:
Months 1 to 6:
Diapers:
$100 for 300 diapers every month

etc...
And so on for 18 years... and that is just for finances. These tests should take no less than 40 hours to complete.
These reports will be sent to an undisclosed committee who can do background checks and decide if the couple can have a child or not.
People need to think these things through before having children, they need to spend weeks discussing things like finances, health, schools, and lots of other things. Such a test will force everyone to meticulously plan out having a child, those who are too lazy to aren't cut out for childcare.
