That doesn't discredit it. Christ did/said all of those things. If early Christianity were founded in the present day, you'd identify it as an end of the world cult. That's what Romans identified it as at the time.

Try to imagine what Scientology would become if it survives another 2,000 years. The only remaining materials describing who L. Ron Hubbard was are those written by, and preserved by his followers. Most people raised in it, seems innately authoritative to them. Loads and loads of well thought out apologetics in defense of it, holidays devoted to L. Ron, etc.

According to books written about L. Ron Hubbard by his followers, he was America's first nuclear physicist, a war hero, a brilliant scientist, etc.

The difference is, L.Ron lived and died recently enough that there are still available materials written about him by non-Scientologists who were alive at the same time.

It feels so wrong that he's celebrated for submitting to torture and execution without resistance. The idea that Jesus' greatest spiritual victory was in allowing himself to be utterly defeated in material terms is a horribly corrosive idea in the real world.

Because in the real world, you don't come back three days later. You stay dead, and the people that killed you take over your community and erase your memory from history.

Jews were looking for a Messiah desperately and so he stepped up to the plate and did what he thought was right, he was still wrong though.

No, the old testament doesn't say the Messiah will be God himself (big misunderstanding here)

Paul wasnt consistent with his own theology, and, at risk of sounding like a Muslim, honestly did invent our western idea of Christianity.

Messiah doesn't even mean savior, the Messiah is a great leader comparable to Moses who will do things like Moses, all within his lifetime, and there will be a messianic age following his accomplishments. Jesus is never coming back, but its a nice story.
