These things are designed to be "walk away safe" meaning you can stop the plant's systems including the cooling system, and the reaction cools off by itself instead of melting down.
At chernobyl, the idiot russians disengaged safety protocols and pushed the reactor to its limit, causing the steam explosion which resulted in the disaster.
This is literally impossible with these new reactor designs. If you were to try the same things with this design, the reactor would simply shut off and cool down like you turned off an electric stove.
