Trump could turn this around so easy it hurts:

Write up a $1M check in Colbert's name for Wounded Warriors. Go on Colbert's show, present Colbert with the Wounded Warriors check, then without hesitation sign the Children’s Zone check.

Suddenly the onus is on Colbert to support our veterans. If he refuses, he looks like an anti-vet commie, if he agrees, Trump basically just donated $1M to Wounded Warriors.

Bonus points if instead Trump signs another $1M Wounded Warriors check if Colbert refuses. It would be glorious.

Go sign the check, on the spot ask Colbert to donate 1,000,000 to Wounded Warriors and before he can even get the reply out have Trump just open up his checkbook and write his own 1,000,000 check to mock Colbert. Trump also needs to point out Colbert's net worth of 40,000,000 and how it's about 37,000,000 more than his African American replacement.

Afterwards he could go on the news programs and point out the bias.

a better move would be to convince trump to make a web video, calling out Colbert for wanting to spend other peoples money (work it into "This is what America needs less of"), and donating 5 Million to a different charity of his choice, to show up Colbert. Maybe a good move would be to say Colbert earns millions a year, maybe he could cover the Harlem bullshit.
