I come here with the preposition for you to split /tv/ into /tv/ and /film/

Why are they together? Just because both are visual mediums? Why not throw in video games then as well? Or maybe anime? Or comics?

They are quite different. A film and a tv show differ in creation, structure, purpose, etc. Not to mention that even the lowest type of blockbuster flick is still culturally and intellectually miles ahead of trashy reality shows and 'whose baby is it?' type stuff.

I also believe quite firmly, even though I don't really have evidence to this case, that a lot of the shitposters on /tv/ are the very same people who come there for tv shows. They are generally juvenile and discourage quality discussion.

You might say that a separate /film/ board will be slow. Maybe that is the case. But would that really be a bad thing? It seems that the tendency on 4chan is that the slower boards, like /lit/, /p/, /trv/, etc etc are the higher quality ones. The slow speed encourages quality discussion that is properly thought out and actually advances the people that participate. The fastest board, au contraire, are trash - /b/, /tv/, /v/, etc.

So please, consider splitting /tv/ into /film/ and /tv/, it will improve the board, the site, and will make for a much better user experience.

Imagine if for April Fools, the Robot was enabled for ALL boards. Imagine the confusion and butthurt.

So until not long ago I could switch from the shitty picture captcha to the old one in the options window by ticking the legacy captcha box. Now this is gone. I'm using Safari on iPhone btw.

Is there a way to get the old captcha back?
