I ran a BBS in the early 1990s based around an online game (pic related). I started at 2400 baud and got up to 14.4k bps by the time I gave it up. This was only about 3 or 4 years before 56k modems. Even in the early 90s our modems were 2-8x faster than they were in the 80s. Today it's really hard to imagine it taking a full minute just for a page of text to display on the screen.

There should be an option here in 4chan where a mod can ban not only posters, but certain pictures to appear in some boards.
For example, if some guy evades his ban and tries to derail threads with the same furry fetish images over and over, this image should be considered spam before being posted.

How feasible is to implement that?

As far as I know it's not really computer vision but simply checks file hash.
Recently I got banned for uploading sadpanda.jpg when I converted to sadpanda.png it went through fine.

Anybody shitposting with the same images and ban evades isn't going to be stopped by an image check, they'll just change the file slightly.

Yeah, it just checks the image's md5. For example, OP's md5 is ddbd9642304765fbc23e56d66361117f.

Changing a single byte in the image will completely change the hash, so banning images doesn't do much.

If a proper algorithm is made, you may detect it. I'm pretty sure there should be some Computer Vision algorithm inmune to that and to affine transformations (scaling/traslating/rotating)

Does anyone know how to force a style on 4chan across all boards forever?
I want to keep using Tomorrow, but I disable cookies and so my style doesn't save to memory and keeps resetting every time I close the browser. I just need something to add to a userscript to force this, but I don't know what functions or variables to call.

You can save an image and check your IP on a phone anon.

and yes, probably, but not only for mobile, many internet companies use dynamic IP's.

A much more common case of unintentional bans are range bans, that are used a last resource

I just had this happen to me today and it happened about 2 weeks ago. It was on a moblile but what I don't understand is the "you can't appeal" message. We should at least have an option for a mod to look at a ban, especially when both times it was a charge of cp.
