I respect your sentiment but the way I see it some people like the idea of requesting (for example) anime on /a/ because it's where they can find people with good taste in anime hanging out and posting. I'm not saying this is a good thing, but it's just the reasoning I see behind it. I don't expect a whole board for anime requests and such things to be successful the way your thinking.

That's just my opinion.

Having a single history general on /lit/ about middle ages, ancient greece, ancient rome, world wars, modern civilizations, ect. is just too much for one topic to handle. Having multiple topics on various historical times on /lit/ would make /lit/ stop being about books. /pol/ is too modern and retarded to have a good history discussion. /k/ has pretty interesting discussions on wars, but those rednecks really aren't ever that insightful.

As for why, there's nowhere that covers them now. /v/ doesn't ban youtuber threads but shitposts the hell out of them, /tv/ sometimes has podcast theads but they don't really make sense there, and it doesn't make sense for radio discussion to be on /mu/. Internet broadcasting is no longer a medium coming of age, it's an active force now and should be recognized on it's own.
