Why? It's not MLP, the developer doesn't want it on the board, and its connection is so miniscule to the franchise and the interests of the people there that it creates a containment board within a containment board.

What's next? Not being able to discuss horse racing on /sp/? Mentions of the word "horse" being ruled on GR15? Just make a "Universal Containment Board" for shit boards don't want, so everyone can dump anything from furshit to Naruto to stuff like this.

It was an MLP related fangame (literally everyone knows this, the news of it getting a cease and desist was all over online media), the dev team is called mane 6, and from what I see, the characters resemble MLP: FiM characters (Crazy fluffy one, the too fabulous for you one, the country one).

As for reasons it belongs on /v/ or /vg/... it's a video game and isn't MLP

Sadly there seems to be more reasons that it should belong on /mlp/, that and the fact that it makes less of a shitstorm there. Maybe if it were never Fighting is magic in the first place, it could be /v///vg/

Because /mlp/ is the only place /v/irgins s are currently allowed to post about it. It's not that nobody wants the game, it's that /v/irgins that want the game are only able to post about it on /mlp/. This is the only reason there is a general on /mlp/, because there is nowhere else you're currently allowed to talk about it.

Again, you should try your luck with the feedback and put in some keywords regarding legality of the game or something because at this rate, saying something like 'Lauren doesn't want it in the board' wouldn't do much.

Also, it's far better to have /v/ stay out of discussing the game UNTIL the game is actually out.

This game is legally not considered MLP related and it's so far just a Video Game featuring animals figting the shit out of each other. The fact that it's a video game and not MLP related anymore makes this game technically a much better fit for /v/ and /vg/ than /mlp/.

People disliking a game or its creators has never stopped a game from being posted on /v/ in the past. People shitposting in a thread has never been a reason to ban the thread rather than the shitposters in the past.

Being on /vg/ is a death sentence unless your game is already attracting tons of regular browsers. People don't go on /vg/ to discover new games, they go there to discuss a game they are already playing. Your general will spiral down into circlejerking and offtopic posting faster than you know it, and the moderation there isn't as good as on other boards (I don't want to blame this on the mods, but rather on the sheer amount of posts).
And before you say 'but you just described /mlp/' then be my guest and give /vg/ a closer look - it's much worse.

All in all, consider it a blessing that you are on /mlp/. I think it's kinda silly that you cannot post on /v/, but /mlp/ will give you more new people than /vg/ ever will.

Are you implying that this is a negative point? Because the bullet hell instances are probably the best part of the game invigorating the turn based combat with agency, otherwise the fights would be nothing but navigating menus. There's a lot of things I don't like about Undertale but the combat is easily one of the best parts of it and is exactly the sort of player agency all JRPGs should incorporate.

Turn based JRPGs have bad gameplay, plain and simple. They're purely statistics and navigating menus with no mechanical skill and combat is typically neglected entirely when discussing their quality. In Most JRPGs strategy isn't a factor either outside of post game bosses where the player is max level and stats, and main story bosses quickly devolve into DPS races where you win or lose based on whether you've grinded to an appropriate level. Some of the best JRPGs of all time either have mechanical or real time elements, or otherwise are regarded as good primarily for their story and presentation rather than gameplay like Chrono Trigger. Undertale's combination of bullet hell and dialogue based puzzles means that battles employ both a strategy or puzzle element AND a mechanical skill element, neither one being sacrificed for the sake of the other.

Like I said, there's a lot of shit I don't like about Undertale, but its combat is easily the highlight of the game and if it were made by an actual Japanese dev everyone would be lauding it as a bright new innovation for the genre.

Also Undertale isn't really bullet hell, it doesn't have focus or grazing and it's not especially complex. It's more akin to an ordinary shmup (while simultaneously providing small innovations upon typical shmup gameplay like spontaneously affecting the ship with different conditions like gravity, and the projectiles that pass through you only if they aren't moving).

At least there it has a better chance to be discussed.

If anything, codify that Them's Fightin' Herds belongs on /mlp/ via either GR15 or the board rules.

The general itself has seen several iterations come and go, and has been met with strife. Granted, this thread is a massive clusterfuck of /mlp/ not wanting it because it's fucking cancer and /v/ not wanting it because they are butthurt that it looks like something that was cancer back in the day.

As of right now, /tfh/ is not touched on /mlp/ but any related threads are getting sniped down.

I'm not seeing a problem here. If tenuous relations to a kids show are what is causing the problem, /mlp/ would be happy to help set up a general on /v/ for unrelated children's games (such as Sesame Street games or Pokemon) as an intermediate step, should that help.

Dude. Get real. The whole reason this game exists is because FiM couldn't be a thing and they didn't wanted to can all the hype. It's more /mlp/ related than /v/ related wheter you like it or not. And if /mlp/ had to swallow EG it can also swallow this.
