Now that /a/ has settled that images with nipples are permitted to be posted, this means that the rules on /tg/ have changed to match, right? /tg/ stuff has always had nipples on art and stuff. Hell, some Yu-Gi-Oh cards can get you a ban if you post them on /tg/.

My understanding is that /a/'s rule applies to screencaps/gifs/webms/etc. taken directly from shows and pages of non-pornographic manga.

Ecchi fanart is still against the rules. This rule is only there to allow people to discuss anime and manga that have nudity unhindered. It doesn't apply to /tg/ at all.

Is it really that much of a problem? In my experience the mods on /tg/ seem pretty reasonable about nudity that isn't just for the sake of fapping.
I remember a few months ago when an anon dumped Requiem chevalier vampire in honour of the board-game being made and the mods let it stay even though it contained lots of nudity.

I understand that there is a difference between the two. On 4chan, and the internet in general, I more often lump them together because they will often lead to similar outcomes. That being the derailment of a thread because a naked person is posted and many people will feel the desire to post about how much they want to have sex with the nude character in question. Nudity and lewd content can very easily make a thread go off topic very quickly.

From what I could tell, the mods would ban the guy, delete his posts, and he'd evade and come back. He'd spam reports on the threads until they'd autosage, then post a shitload of copy threads with things like patreon donation links and stuff in the OP. So you'd have like 15 threads at a time all saying they were "weekend slut thread" or something.

Eventually they started deleting any /wst/ threads, and made them autosage as soon as they were posted. After a while, if they tried to make a new one, the mods would just delete it.

Either the mods just got tired of dealing with it or their were multiple mods with conflicting ideas. Either way, if you complain enough the mods will cave. Good advice to live by tbh

And when nudity, and especially lewd content, is introduced to a discussion, the thread will often choose to go in that direction, and will often stay in that direction for quite a while. Pornography, at its core, is a different subject from any other thing. Nudity leads to pornography more often than not on many boards on 4chan. Sure, you might not always get image dumps, but the discussion at hand would be something different from what the board, by the rules, calls for. And what about the people that do not want to see lewd content in a thread that doesn't need it? Like say, a Mario franchise thread on /v/. Or an Evangelion thread on /a/? Is it not selfish to disregard the desires of those people in favor of your own?

It does. Official, tasteful, images tend to not cause many problems. Fan works on the other hand, can drown out what the board was actually made for. Keep in mind that a large portion of even official nudity is an obvious step away from thought provoking art. I see it more as what the work intends to make the viewer feel, versus how the viewer reacts to it. Does the content in question make you think? or does it sooner make you want to masturbate? What kind of discussion follows any given content, image or written? Does that discussion really belong on that board?

Giant naked Rei's breasts are a good example of tasteful nudity. One that does not always devolve into NSFW or low quality discussion focused more on how sexually attractive a viewer may find her, and what sexual acts they wish to preform with her. In cases like this, nudity should be seen as safe for work. It is not always just about the work itself, it's also about how the users decide to react to it.
