Moderation and reporting needs to be checked. I'm not sure about you but I've been getting an influx of warnings and bans regarding things I discuss. Whenever I post I'm always on topic with the thread I always think carefully about what I say, sometimes I might be rude sometimes I might step on toes to get a point across. This site is supposed to be a place where you can post anonymously and have your words on equal footing with everyone else right? Why then is it people can report me for not liking what I say and then my ban is so short I can't appeal it?
To me this effectively shuts me out of a discussion, I'm no longer able to reply to, concede to, or to explain my reasoning to anyone worst of all to the mods that are trigger happy with bans. In my mind this goes against the spirit of the site when people can abuse the report system to shut you out of a discussion. This site wasn't made and never was for people to be protected if their feelings got hurt and the recent show of moderation is showing a new standard for what is allowed and what isn't.
I propose all bans should be appeal-able, and you should be able to report the mods who ban you and the people who report you. if it shows that the reporters are found to be abusing this system they should be banned if the mods give you a bullshit 1 day ban that you can't appeal for no good reason they should no longer be a mod. As it stands now there is no way to fight back against these reddit-tier limitations on free speech.
