Hopefully I'm not treading into a Rule 7 violation, with this but I've been thinking about effective reporting. How does someone make the most of a report? Mainly my question is about spam: is there some existing policy on how to report this? Should I be reporting each post, or only a few?
Additionally, why do other chans allow you to include a short, say 50 character 'reason' for the report so the janitor/mod knows what to assess? Are there hidden drawbacks to this that I'm not seeing?

I want to be clear: there are no such offending posts currently up to my knowledge, I am simply asking for future reference.
