Delete it, yes, but take steps to reduce cancer beforehand. Identify the worst elements of the board (the gore, the fetish shit, etc), delete those threads, and permaban the OPs from /mlp/, and continue the policy of banning pony outside of /mlp/

After a month of that, the only people left on /mlp/ will be the comparatively sane, normal minority of the fanbase and at that point the board can be safely deleted and pony can be shipped back to /co/ or whatever.

It's no different than treating a tumor with chemo until its small enough to surgically remove.

There's literally more of them then there are generals. And at least with generals, they have a set name so you can easily filter that shit, where as with the prompts, you can't easily filter them

They're similar. But they're not generals, they're recurring story thread. Those fall into a separate category as /tg/ learned a long time ago. Few of them are ever eternally up and are instead on a schedule for example. The existence of the CYOA thread actually encourages them to die when they're inactive as it provides a central place people can check to see when they're up and a place to talk about them when they're down.

There's something like 30-40 CYOAs that are regularly active but only 10-20 ever have a thread up at the same time. The problem you see would be worse without that central point.

They also encourage putting 'Quest' or 'CYOA' in subjects so that they are filterable.

Sure they're annoying, but they aren't generals, as you said. Honestly, it sounds like you're supporting generals here. If AiE didn't exist there'd be even more random AiE threads. If you don't want to see them around as much start telling them to gbt AiE.

Both AiE and the CYOA general actually serve a function in mitigating what you dislike.
