It is over a decade late but there is absolutely no justification for the name or tripcode function. Just implement a means for a mod/janny/admin to be able to identify themselves in their post, should they feel obnoxious enough to post. Having that function doubled up with something that allows tripfags goes against the point of a anonymous board.
