Hi, retard here. There's a lot of talk about Rand, Donald, Hillary, etc. but who am i actually supposed to care about? Which 2 people will be running in the 2016 electrion and how exactly do they choose those 2 candidates?

It will come down to either Bernie or Hillary against some bland, generic Republican. Trump isn't going to win. He won't win the primary, and if he somehow did, there are more than enough Republicans who would vote Democrat just to avoid him getting into office.

Beginning in the Spring, the states will have mini elections to decide the candidates for each party. These are called primaries, and can either be open to all voters or closed, meaning only registered members of a party can vote. You do this at city hall when you register to vote, or at any time really. Each state has delegates, which after the primaries, meet at a convention in the summer to "pledge" their votes to the candidate who won in that state. The winners are the two candidates for president. They slecet a VP, and then the official campaign begins.
