Has anyone else found it harder to make friends now that you've gotten older? My list of close friends has shrunk drastically the last couple of years and It feels like i've forgotten how to make them in the first place.

Because in school you're forced into interacting with others and thus friendships are born. After that obligation is killed off, your true friends will stick around, the others will fade. Unless you keep up with the social interaction, you have no forced way of meeting people.

It just feels like my social skills have dropped over the years. I used to be able to make friends but now i feel hopelessly lost, like i can't connect with anyone even if we share similar interests.

Maybe they have. For me it's just a generalized lack of interest which keeps me from making new friends.
I make sure to make time for the friends I still have and like. Why are you concerned about making new friends?
