Less women would die. More assholes would be off the street because sex workers wouldn't have to fear prosecution when reporting assault. It would be cheaper on the justice system. It might even cut down the number of people who are forced into sex work.
It would never legally be as low as fast food prices, though.

Sex workers would have to register their status and report their incomes like anyone else. Think of independent makeup artists, or personal trainers, anyone who works themselves. And obviously there would be repercussions for people who were dishonest about their income.
