OP, no.
Just buy some cute nail polish at the dollar store and get nail polish remover and cotton balls.
The entire thing will cost maybe $5.00 and will last you a long time.
Every time you paint your toes or fingers you can just remove it any time by putting nail polish remover onto a cotton ball and rubbing it off. I promise it will remove it completely.
Really simple and painless, so. Don't put fucking tape on your toes. You're better than that.
Pro-tip: After you've got the polish on your nails, wait about two minutes and then run your nails under really cold water because it'll help dry/harden them instantly. (I know that when you first start painting your nails it can be hard not to get smudges!)

It depends on the type of nail polish you used, you want to make sure that isn't very runny because then you have to do a few coats while letting it dry in between which can get complicated.
Try pic related, it's the sally-hansen insta-dry line. I used it when I first started and it has a nice flat brush, is opaque (no second coats) and quicker drying time.
Your problem was probably that you put on a very thick coat at once and it was too globby to dry.
You want to just try for an even, thinner layer.
Use long strokes. Try searching for a "Nail polish for beginners" tutorial on youtube.

Don't stress if your nails aren't perfect right away you guys, eventually it'll be second nature and you'll enjoy it.

DON'T DO IT. I SWEAR.
Even grills can't do mother fucking nail art. They make it look fucking easy on pinterest but it's a massive headache and probably the most masochistic thing you will ever do to yourself.
(And really it's fucking stupid in the first place to spend that much fucking time painting a fucking retarded tiny glittery ladybug onto your thumb, go read a cool book)
