I haven't read through Piketty's Capital yet, but I understand that it compiles a great amount of data. I'm sure this data is useful, even if Piketty's explanation for the tendency of returns on capital to outpace economic growth is unconvincing or incomplete.

Perhaps dismissing the entire thing as a "religious text" and not reading it on those grounds it itself a tad unscientific?
