In my primary school there was a astronomy book that said if two comets hit each other in space no one knew what could result.
And it illustrated a picture of a demonic space cat coming out of an explosion.

This happens all the time dude, it's called an eclipse.

Basically the temperature difference is so great that they can't even touch eachother, and the ice sun just phases right through the fire sun.

The fire one would explode because a comet made of fire doesn't make any sense, especially in space. The ice one would pass right through the gas cloud from the fire one because its just a normal comet.

Let's say both comets are perfectly spherical.

The fire comet is cinnamon flavored, has a mass of exactly 1 megagram (one million grams), and a velocity of 100 km/s.
