So I'm learning about electron orbitals and I'm able to apply the concepts to MO and VB, but I don't understand the geometry of the orbitals. They are determined by the Azimuthal quantum number apparently and I don't understand the workings of that number. Can someone please recommend some textbook that explains this in an accessible but comprehensive way? Also, if you want to give an explanation of the concept in your own words, I'd appreciate that.
