>>7619128I personally never experienced any noticeable withdrawal symptoms, that couldn't be attributed to other factors (sleep depravation, etc.). For about three years I was taking Adderall daily, and for most of this period it was completely ineffectual due to tolerance which built up in what seemed to me like a week or two at most. The drug worked fantastically when I started taking it, as well as the (one and only) time I increased my dose, and (importantly) whenever I resumed use after a long period without (summer, winter, spring vacation). Eventually I realized the futility in taking such a drug on a daily basis and started taking it only at times when I needed it most (major projects, papers and exams). That worked pretty well - my overall productivity went up and my grades increased.
>>7620959You're not fucked. I strongly recommend you try taking a break for a while and see how you are off the drug, as well as how you respond to going back on it after allowing your tolerance to wear off.
>>7621851Many side effects are immediately apparent with each use. I regularly encountered loss of apatite, dry mouth, dehydration, and clammy hands/feet during the effect of the drug. The only serious consequences I encountered as a result were weight loss and a pneumothorax episode I suffered while particularly dehydrated. I never noticed any persistent neurological side-effect after the drug had worn off, but my dose never exceeded 30 mg XR. But the other physiological side-effects are definitely not to be taken lightly.
