>>7617023This. Which is funny, because if you put a picture of a "grey" next to a picture of a man and a picture of a deep sea fish, and told an image recognition program to guess which object belongs to a different set than the others, it'd probably guess that the fish was the alien.
The point being, aliens probably won't look more like us than like animals.
We assume they will, because we associate looking humanlike with intelligence, and we expect them to be intelligent. But it's equally likely that the deep sea octopus will look much more like a human than an alien will.
