>>7618775>working when having a shit or on holiday is more than a little depressing. The real depressing part is: "where did all this work come from?"
My parents were born in the 1940's.
They each came from a family of six (4 kids, two adults).
In each case the family was clothed, housed and fed by a single income earned by a man who had never been to college.
OK, they had only one car per family, no X-Box, laptop or iPad.
But they also didn't have a trade deficit, so America produced more than they consumed.
We've doubled the work per household (or more) and halved the number of kids, and yet the middle class is disappearing.
