Having a degree doesn't prove anything except that you can pass tests and that you have money.

Having a PhD doesn't prove anything but that you can pass tests and have even more money and an excess of time.

I know several people with degrees and PhD's that are dumb as a box of rocks.

Also, yay, you lifted things and put them back down until your myofibrils got swollen with increased myofilament numbers and support cells. You'll probably live a bit longer too.

But what have you actually done that is of any worth with any of these things?

Seems like an interesting and successful guy who's really passionate about what he does.

It's a shame he's wasting his potential studying nutrition, maintaining decent nutritional health is a solved problem so all his work does is help min/maxers win a vanity contest. If he'd studied something more scientific, he could probably have made a serious contribution.

And here you are asking that question with no credentials of your own. OP has made accomplishments that he is proud of, why do you have to take that away?

Besides, the thread is about combining brains and brawn not about what contributions people have made to the world.

He might not make a contribution, but his goal might've been to become an expert in something he enjoys. Having a PhD will get him respect, credibility, and pride. Maybe those were his goals. If so, he used his intelligence to get what he wanted.
