you can't patent something that's already in the public arena

all someone has to do is point out that that device already existed when you filed, and your patent is invalid

So yeah, I'm not looking for how the concept of convection heating works - I can research that myself - rather I need to know exactly how they engineered it so it'd heat up to a certain temperature upon pressing a button, as well as how it automatically turns off, after a period of time after reaching the temperature

No they don't. They patent any new things they create, so they might patent e.g. a more efficient fuel valve they've invented. They don't patent an entire car.

Real talk: Electronics Engineer here who actually does consulting, I could give you the full designs for one of those.

I estimate ~ 5 hours of work for the preliminary estimation, billed at $100. Per half hour.
