for part a:
V= $\pi r^2 [\math]h<br />take derivative with respect to time, using the product rule:<br /><script type="math/tex"> \frac{dV}{dt} = \pi r^2 \frac{dh}{dt} +2 \pi r \frac{dr}{dt} h$
Now we can plug in the given information and solve for $\frac{dh}{dt}$ :
2000= $\pi 100^2 \frac{dh}{dt} +2 \pi *100*2.5*.5$
$\frac{dh}{dt} = \frac{2}{\pi} -2.5 \approx -1.86$
part b seems to be missing an equation, so I can't really help you solve it.

Sorry I fucked up the latex. it should say $V= \pi r^2 h$ take derivative with respect to time using product rule. I also fucked up when plugging in it should be $frac{2}{\pi} -.25 \approx .386$
I was wondering why it turned out negative haha
