So, How difficult is the transition for people that go from CC to top 4 year universities like UCB among others. I will be transfering soon and I'm kind of worries into the difference in rigor. My CC is kind of easy, but I still go beyond and try to understand the concepts.
I'm a physics major.
What was your experience.

If you're a physics major undergrad, you're pretty much a blank slate with a tough major. You can easily get into medical or law school, physicists have the highest acceptance rates for both.

The downside is, you're basically guaranteed to be staying in school after you graduate. There's not much you can do as a physics undergraduate. Most physics-related jobs will require a PhD.

I can't help you with your original question, never been to a top 4 school.

I do plan on moving on to graduate school. I plan on doing a double in math. That is if I can handle the rigor at my new university.

Worst case scenario, I could graduate on physics than do a master on engineering and get a job on the industry. But I would much rather prefer to continue. (At least I can dream)

I'm not too sure for now what field I would like to get into. But by the end of my undergrad I should have enough exposure to physics to have a better idea of what I want to do.

There is a pretty big party presence here and plenty of people get lost just fucking around. So you'll have the opportunity to fuck yourself over, but you should just remember why you're in college.

The classes will probably be more lax compared to your CC. It's my belief that the 4 years loosen up the classes so that they can get a better grad rate and allow their students to take part in more club shit. CC s on the other hand want you for as long as possible and their teachers are usually hard asses. You will find a lower concentration of hard asses at your new level.

I went to a CC for 5 years and I'm on my 2nd semester at a CSU. Not a UC, but still. The second year general chem here was incredibly easier than the one I failed at my CC. I'm looking to breeze into graduation next year.

Nowhere near enough pure mathematics for graduate school
Nowhere near enough applications and design for engineering

Physics is an awkward major that's better as an expansion pack rather than a standalone package.

This is still the only relevant post. OP, I know a few transfer students, and they are doing pretty well (e.g. it's not impossible), but you do have to be prepared for quite a bit of a step up in difficulty.

OP, I go to UCB and I have yet to meet a transfer student that isn't an idiot. I avoid them like the plague. They've basically have just been in extended high school for two years and come over here like idiots expecting the workload to be the same. Also physics here sucks, I used to major in it.

A girl I went to HS with went to CC and transferred into Berkeley as an english major. She wanted into UCB so bad she switched to the community college near Berkeley, since the CC and the college have some sort of agreement together. As for other UCs, try tagging them.

I know a cc transfer from my lab at cal who is perhaps the smartest guy i know... Got like 5 associates degrees, literally ran out of classes to take at cc... Now taking and breezing through graduate courses since he transferred.
