I'd imagine so, can't speak for other people but to me I get a similar feeling of accomplishment when solving interesting math problems as when I beat a game

Pretty much the only thing I do is program, play vidya, and do analysis homework. All 3 give me a similar high when I solve a problem or beat a difficult boss, although I do prefer fighting games or action platformers that don't require a lot of strategy, just reflexes.
