I might just abandon /soc and return to /adv/, /b/ and /mu/.
/adv/ is depressing but I like the crowd, people seem a bit more hydrated,
/b/ is brutal and hilarious, doubt that'll ever disappear entirely,
/mu/ just posts some great stuff sometimes.
/soc/ needs dissolving in a vat of acid
I remember my first night on /soc/ helped a guy plan a night out for his gf, no cash, simple stuff, he said she was asleep and he was bored, wanted shit to do. After the usual "sharpie in the pooper" posts. it got nice we suggested he plans a date night for her, sent him links to jazz clubs, places for
picnics.it continued like that, a community of polite people crowdsourcing ideas it was sociable, not directly, not a state of "hey here's my number let's meet up for drinks and talk this out" it was an anonymous socialising. I'll always hold that dearly. but I must admit, however much I love /soc/ sometimes... it'll never go back to that. So RIP /soc/ your coffin is covered in dicks.
