Today's my birthday, and aside from family I'm all alone.

Maybe we can talk about stuff, I mean... if you really want to. Or just commiserate about being sad and lonely.

idk, birthdays are pretty depressing to me. After you're 21 (in the US at least) there's nothing to celebrate about actually getting older, you're just celebrating because you're supposed to.

And I mean, celebration isn't a bad thing, just I miss being a kid when having a birthday was actually really exciting. Had friends to do stuff with, people made a bigger deal of it, getting older was something you looked forward to.

The sentiment wasn't "oh, another year and I'm still sad and alone."

That's what pretty much everyone thinks mate. Don't pretend like your the only one feeling like that, other people just deal with it better.

Be grateful you have your family with you, not everyone has that. So your not doing so fucking bad.

Thanks. I am going to do something with family in a few hours (presumably lunch) but after that probably watching Netflix, playing games, and sleeping the rest of the day.
